A wildly popular hike in the Grand Teton National Park combines Jenny Lake’s beauty, the stunning Hidden Fall’s waterfall and Inspiration Point’s exquisite views.
Head to Jenny Lake for an all day visit or on your way to Yellowstone National Park or the famous town of Jackson. Jenny Lake is a magnificent place to camp, kayak, fish and hike or to begin a backpacking adventure.
Taking the shuttle boat across Jenny Lake and hiking to Hidden Falls and Inspiration point is a must do for hikers wanting a spectacular several hour adventure.
Wildlife by Jenny Lake
Along with the amazing scenery, seeing wildlife is common. We were blessed to encounter a Moose and her baby calf on the trail.
Jenny Lake Hiking Options
You can reach the trailhead to Hidden Falls and Inspiration point several ways. The most popular way is to take a shuttle boat across Jenny Lake.
The boat drops you off at the trailhead. It’s a .6-mile moderate climb to Hidden Falls followed by a steeper .4-mile climb to Inspiration point. The shuttle departs every 15 minutes from the Jenny Lake boat ramp.
Another option is to skip the shuttle and walk along the shore from the Jenny Lake Visitor Center to the start of the trailhead for a 5-mile roundtrip adventure.
Or start North of Jenny Lake at the String Lake trailhead and hike south 2.2 miles along the beautiful shore before reaching the trailhead to Hidden Falls and Inspiration Point. We started at String Lake. It was peaceful and pretty hiking along the shore and less crowded.

Any trail you explore in this area of the Grand Teton National Park has spectacular scenery. Don’t forget to bring your camera and take time to enjoy the sights!
