Why sign-up for a “ladies” snowsports camp?
- Camps usually run 2-5 days allowing you to improve technique, learn new skills, and increase confidence. You’ll also enjoy the camaraderie and the support of other women.
- A good program is designed to provide instruction in small groups with other women of similar abilities and goals. You’ll also receive one-on-one instruction.
- It’s an honor for instructors to teach a ladies only program. You’ll often find the best women instructors teaching the clinics. Skiing with women in a program taught by women provides a supportive, comfortable, and encouraging environment.

Hi!
I am a 62 year old intermediate skier. Do any of the ski camps for women focus on the older woman skier? I think the only big difference is that we might tire a little sooner than our younger sister skiers.
Hi Iris! You may fit perfectly into most clinics catering to woman only. The camps usually provide an instructor for each level of skier. It is also common for larger camps to have more than one group of intermediate skiers where the ladies who want more breaks will be in a different group than the ladies who desire more on the snow time.
I also recommend calling ahead and finding out more about the ages and levels of the current participants registered. In addition, pick a clinic that is well organized and provides breaks with video-analysis, discussions and social activities.
Here are a few clinics you may want to look into.
Squaw Valley offers Women only clinics with a special program design and rate for women 50 and over.
Sun Valley offers a great women’s clinic for all ages, but you’ll often find a wide variety of ages and levels.
The following camps cater to both men and women over 50.
Bumps for Boomers is designed to teach intermediate-level Baby Boomer and senior skiers how to ski moguls and powder.
Mt. Rose in Tahoe offers a 2 day senior ski camp for ages 50 and over.

I hope this helps you get started! Let me know what camp you choose!
Thanks ~ Kari
