The Mountain at Steamboat
With 165 trails, 3,668 vertical feet, and nearly 3,000 skiable acres, Steamboat’s 6 peaks are filled with world-class groomed cruisers, bumps, steeps, open meadows, legendary trees and Mavericks Superpipe. Base Elevation: 6900 feet. Summit: 10,568 feet. Trails consist of 14% beginner, 42% intermediate, and 44% in advanced terrain.
Mavericks Superpipe is 450 feet long, 56-feet wide with 18-foot walls and a 22-foot transition. Not quite ready for Mavericks? Start in Mini-Mav, a miniature version of the superpipe with eight-foot walls. View or venture into the terrain park with its outdoor sound system and a variety of rails. Lil’ Rodeo Terrain Park has 12 features ranging from some small beginner features to a medium line with a nice jump.
Ski Lessons and Programs at Steamboat
Steamboat offers group and private ski and snowboard lessons for children and adults. Specialty programs include the Women’s Ski Camps and Billy Kidd Race Camps.
Women’s Ski Camps: Deb Armstrong, Olympic Gold Medalist, hosts Steamboat’s Women’s clinics with Certified experienced female coaches for women only. Emphasis is on camaraderie, fun, and skill improvement.
Billy Kidd Race Camps: This three day Race Camp sets the standard for advanced skill development. We focus on your carving and racing skills and show you how that can help your all-mountain and all-terrain skiing.
At the base of the mountain, Steamboat knows how to jam with concerts and events. Have you ever seen a true cowboy ski? Check out the annual Bud Light Cowboy Downhill. Watch how real cowboys ski fast, launch off jumps and fall hard – but a cowboy never cries.
Hang out with friends and enjoy tasty food, a full bar, and live entertainment at Tugboat Grill & Pub. This is a local favorite and a true mountain pub. Or keep your ski boots on and enjoy views of the mountain, brick oven pizza and an impressive bar at the Slopeside Grill.
Off the Mountain Treats
Stop by Amante, an Italian espresso bar, on your drive up the mountain. The lattes are served to perfection, the pastries are scrumptious and the service is exceptional.
